Mankind’s creations have turned against us? Nuclear weapons exist
and have been used in war. Many stories happen if a world
continues after ashes of nuclear war. What is the likelihood that
technology will lead to the disappearance of another frontier
between what mankind creates and what becomes the future of
humanity?
Crowman glanced down. The boy was strange, saying very little.
Withdrawn? However, that was the way they were, the children
surviving the sickness. Quiet? Yes! And yes to fatalism, fear,
courage and the strength of one or more than one. Nothing
surprised them. They accepted everything. They expected nothing
normal and nothing abnormal. They could not tell the difference.
There was nothing moral or physical for them. Custom, habit and all
the determining forces to learn did not, for the children, exist. Only
survival and brute experience remained…
